Robinson, Sam

Sam Robinson is a Senior Research Associate based at Lancaster Environment Centre, Lancaster University. His research focusses on the effects of land-use change on biodiversity and ecosystem functioning across multiple biomes, with a background in carbon and nutrient cycling in human modified tropical forest ecosystems in Borneo and Brazil. As an EnergyREV postdoctoral researcher, Sam is conducting a global evidence review to improve understanding of the broader environmental impacts and co-benefits of Smart Local Energy Systems beyond reductions in carbon emissions, including effects on ecosystem services and natural capital, to avoid trading climate change for ecosystem degradation and to identify potential for ecosystem restoration through the energy transition.
