Tim Braunholtz-Speight

Tim is a Research Associate at the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research at the University of Manchester. He is a social scientist who researches community and local energy systems, and decentralised infrastructure more broadly. His research work includes a study of community energy finances for UKERC, and of community infrastructure businesses for Power to Change. His previous experience includes studies of alternative finance across the UK, and community land ownership in Scotland. Within EnergyRev, he is working with Maria Sharmina and Dimitrios Pappas, also of Tyndall Manchester, on business models for smart local energy systems. This includes a study of business models used by existing local energy systems, followed by work with stakeholders to co-design new models that can help accelerate the deployment of smart local energy.
