EnergyREV LEAD for System Level Scale-Up of Smart Local Energy Systems
Mercedes Maroto-Valer (FRSE, FRSC, FIChemE, FRSA) is Director of the Research Centre for Carbon Solutions (RCCS) and Assistant Deputy Principal (Research & Innovation) at Heriot-Watt University. Mercedes has extensive engineering experience in process analysis, systems integration and studies for applications in low-carbon energy technologies. She has coordinated numerous large multi-institutional projects.
As co-Investigator of the EnergyREV consortium, Mercedes is leading WP 6.2 ‘System Level Scale-Up of Smart Local Energy Systems’. This WP aims to accelerate the system level scale up of smart local energy systems through investigating case-studies of existing energy system demonstrators in order to evaluate system/process integration and understand their interdependencies.
