Maria Sharmina

Dr Maria Sharmina is a Reader in Energy and Sustainability at the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research in the University of Manchester. Her main area of expertise is in devising innovative business models for low-carbon energy and circular economy. As part of the EnergyREV consortium, Maria is working with stakeholders to create a taxonomy of business models existing in the energy sector and to co-design new local energy business models. In her other research, she is developing new business models for UKRI-funded projects on sustainable food systems, single-use plastics, and environmental digital solutions, thereby bringing cross-sectoral expertise to the Consortium.
